14U FULL TIME TRAVEL BASEBALL TEAM TRYOUTS SET FOR 2017 TOURNAMENT TEAM

The 14U Illinois Chargers - Walsh, will play Elite/AAA Division Baseball. We are seeking committed players that have a genuine desire to take their game to the next level. The Chargers will have winter workouts that focus on skill development with strength training (no weight lifting) and conditioning. Our goal is to improve each player’s capabilities in all facets of the game (hitting, fielding, pitching, infield, outfield, base running, speed and strength). As the season approaches, the practices will have more emphasis on situational play.

As an organization, our goal is to provide our players with advanced skill instruction that will help them pursue their dreams in baseball. Practices will be consistent and based upon practices typically used at Division 1 baseball programs. With the support of parents and dedicated hard work from the players, we believe the players will be prepared to compete with some of the best teams in their age group. Good sportsmanship will be mandatory for all Chargers.

For the 2017 season, we will play the majority of our games at local/regional weekends in tournaments. We will practice during the week. Team Size: 11-12 players and 2-3 Dedicated Pitchers. NO COACHING FEES. EVERY PENNY WILL BE SPENT ON THE PLAYERS.

All players are expected to pitch and work as a catcher. Dedicated pitchers will have their own training protocol in addition to team practices. Dedicated pitchers will participate in an arm program that has been developed in conjunction with local orthopedic surgeons. The pitchers will have mound work during the week in preparation for games.

This is a wonderful opportunity for players looking to step up and prepare to play high school baseball.

Illinois Chargers is a youth baseball non profit organization that supports full time travel baseball teams from 10u-17u.

Coach: Patrick Walsh (Mt. Carmel H.S/Indiana University Baseball) Coach Walsh managed several youth teams including a 12U Illinois State Championship Team (USSSA), and a National Travel Team. He has 35-years of baseball experience as a player and coach. Instructor: Mike Stritch (Brother Rice H.S./Northwestern University) All-Big 10 player.
