  • An officer on Monday advised an employee of HBM Express, 16W455 W. Frontage Road, a trucking company, about his rights after being terminated. • An employee at Nova Carriers, 7958 S. Madison St., told police April 7 that his employer was holding onto his last check until he turned in the semi and trailer that he had in his possession while he worked for Nova. He said he wanted to receive the check first. Police deemed the issue a civil matter.
  • A former employee at Freight One, 16W475 S. Frontage Road, told police April 7 that he disagreed with the reason he was terminated. After looking over his signed contract, he understood that he could be terminated at any time. He cleaned out his leased semi and gave the key to his employer.
  • An employee in the 7700 block of Brush Hill Road told police April 2 his employer was stealing his wages. An officer referred the matter to the DuPage County Sheriff's Office, the agency of jurisdiction.
