Angry Anti-Masker, Failed Punchline: Burr Ridge Cops
A man becomes argumentative when he was asked to wear a mask at a clinic, police say.

BURR RIDGE, IL — In recent weeks, Burr Ridge police handled cases involving a mask dispute, a suspicious couple, a theft of a phone, violating campaign signs and dog issues. Here is information from the latest Burr Ridge police reports:
Mask dispute
- Police were called about 3 p.m. March 16 about a man who refused to wear a mask at Loyola Center for Health at Burr Ridge, 6800 N. Frontage Road. The man became argumentative when he was told the doctor would only see him if he was wearing a mask. The center told the man he must leave because he was not complying with mask regulations. The man agreed to go.

- Two people fishing at Carriage Way Park about 4:30 p.m. March 9 admitted to speaking with nearby children but denied offering candy. They said they were trying to be funny saying "Hey kids" to the boys. They apologized.
Just what were they doing?
- Hotel guests complained to the front desk of Extended Stay America, 15W122 S. Frontage Road, that two people were having sex in the hotel parking lot about 2 p.m. March 12. When police arrived, the two people were sitting in his white Ford. They said they work nearby and were talking about their boss. They left without any problems.
Theft

- A resident on Carriage Way Drive told police shortly before 1 a.m. March 10 that someone entered her home and took her cellphone. She said her doors were locked, but a person somehow got inside. The resident also said the person slid her bank statement under a doorway. She said she wanted to document that her television was not working. She was alert to time and day and refused medical treatment. About six hours later, the woman called police again to report that her house key had been stolen. A locksmith was called.
Campaign signs
- An officer removed four temporary signs that were in violation of the village's sign ordinance March 12. They were paid for by "Vote No on the Mayor's Pay Raise." A short while later, the officer removed another temporary sign that was in violation. It advertised an estate sale at 8512 Johnston Road. All the signs were brought to the village garage. The signs were removed at the direction of interim Village Administrator Evan Walter.
Dog issues
- A dog named Lucky was seen near Woodside and Shag Bark lanes about 7 a.m. March 12. When an officer approached the dog, it ran away toward home in the 8100 block of County Line Road. The homeowner confirmed it was her dog.
- An officer returned a black lab named Drew about 7 a.m. March 10 to a resident in the 8400 block of Clynderven Road. The resident was looking for Drew and said their fence blew down without their knowledge, letting the dog escape.
- Kelly E. Lake was cited on a charge of having two dogs, Daisy and Lucky, at large March 13. The dogs were running loose near County Line Road and Cross Creek Court.
