Baby Falls, Dispute Over Mask: Burr Ridge Cops
One-month-old hits his head on parking lot in town, report says.
BURR RIDGE, IL — In recent days, Burr Ridge police handled cases involving a baby fall, a mask dispute, a dog's death, an agitated resident with a false burglar alarm, a disturbance at a clinic and a gift card scam. Here is information from the reports:
Baby falls
- Tri-State paramedics took a woman and her 1-month-old son to the Hinsdale hospital after her son fell out of his car seat and struck his head about 4 p.m. May 27 at a parking lot on High Grove Boulevard. The baby did not lose consciousness. The fall occurred when the mother was getting the car seat out of her car. The fall was less than 2 feet.

- Two officers were called about 2 p.m. May 27 to Loyola Medicine Burr Ridge, 6800 N. Frontage Road, because of an argument between a security guard and a woman about how to properly wear a face covering. The woman was told to leave the building and not return. She left and was picked up by a ride-share driver.
Resident's 14-year-old dog dies
- A landscaper in the 8100 block of Park Avenue called police after a resident asked him to remove her dead dog from her house about 10:30 a.m. May 27. The resident confirmed to an officer her 14-year-old dog, Angel, died. Kozy Acres Canine Crematory responded and removed Angel. DuPage County Senior Services also was notified to offer the resident further everyday assistance.
Agitated resident

- Police responded to a residential burglar alarm about 4 a.m. May 28 on 81st Street. When officers arrived, the homeowner was highly agitated, cussed at the police and told them to leave. The officers departed after ensuring everything was fine. About an hour later, the homeowner called back to have police explain to his wife that things was fine. On most days, Burr Ridge police respond to several burglar alarms, nearly all of which are false.
Refuses to leave
- Security at Loyola Medicine Burr Ridge, 6800 N. Frontage Road, informed police about 11:30 a.m. May 28 that a woman was refusing to leave after not obeying pandemic protocols. After police arrived, security said the woman was a Loyola Maywood employee and was now being cooperative. Security did not need further assistance.
Gift card scam
- A resident on Pheasant Hollow Drive informed police May 28 that she received a call from someone saying she had won the Publishers Clearing House Sweepstakes. She wanted advice on whether it was a scam. She was told she needed to get a $500 gift card first. An officer told the woman it was definitely a scam. She said she had not given any personal information.
