Bar Disturbance, Road Rage: Burr Ridge Cops

An intoxicated man causes a scene in a local bar, police say.

BURR RIDGE, IL — In recent times, police have handled cases involving a bar disturbance, road rage, a rock thrown through a window, a suspicious incident at Gower Middle School, an accidental 911 dialing and loose dogs, among others. Here is information from the reports:

Causing bar scene

  • A bartender said a man was intoxicated and causing a scene at Falco's Pizza, 16W561 S. Frontage Road, about 9:30 p.m. March 4. The man left in a black Chevrolet sedan. The bartender said Falco's would no longer serve the man.

  • An officer saw two cars stopped in the northbound left turn lane of County Line Road at Veterans Boulevard about 3 p.m. March 6. The passenger of the lead car was yelling at the driver of the following vehicle. The driver and the passenger in the lead car said the following car tried to run them off the road and was tailgating them on Interstate 55. The other driver said the lead car was passing him and other cars on the shoulder of I-55 and was driving aggressively. All parties continued on their way after calming down.

Casing the neighborhood?

  • A resident on Fieldstone Drive said four men in a black Volkswagen were driving slowing on the street about 5 p.m. March 6, possibly casing the area. The men were last seen headed north on County Line Road. Two officers saw a 2013 black Volkswagen going onto Shady Lane from Plainfield Road. They did not have probable cause to stop the car. There were no signs of criminal activity.

  • A resident in the 800 block of Village Center Drive was awakened about 11:30 p.m. March 4 by a rock thrown at one of her windows, causing spider-web cracking.

Mysterious delivery

  • A resident in the 400 block of Westminster Drive said two men dropped off a 2013 Mercedes about 10 a.m. March 3. It was not the resident's car. An officer spoke to the registered owner, who said she had work done on the car and that her son must have dropped it off at the wrong address. The registered owner is staying at a house on the same street.

Gower disturbance

  • The principal of Gower Middle School reported a suspicious incident that happened about 9 p.m. March 2. The custodian was taking out the trash when he saw several teenagers in the parking lot. They said they were playing a game. The custodian told the teens to leave, and they did. The principal requested an extra patrol during the evening.

Phone in back yard

  • A resident in the 7800 block of Wolf Road turned in an iPhone on March 8 that he found in his back yard. The phone had no cell service and was password protected with a full battery. If the owner is identified, the resident said he would like to get the person's information so that he can issue a no-trespass order.

Accidental dialing

  • Someone at Shirley Ryan Ability Lab, 7600 County Line Road, accidentally called 911 on March 4. A clinical manager said her employees have to press 91 to exit the building and occasionally an employee will hit 911 by mistake. An officer walked through the building to ensure no one was in distress or needed assistance. Everyone appeared fine.

Loose dogs

  • Two dogs were running in and out of traffic about 11 a.m. March 6 in the 8000 block of County Line Road. Three officers found the dogs on Cross Creek. The dogs ran to their owner's house in the 8100 block of County Line Road. An officer tried to contact the resident, but was unsuccessful.

Delivery from Mideast

  • A resident on South Old Mill Road alerted the police March 4 that she received unsolicited mail from the United Arab Emirates. The only contents were two metal pendants. There was no return address.

Trucks on street

  • A resident in the 8400 block of Meadowbrook Drive complained March 4 that trucks have been parked on the street overnight, especially at a construction site. An officer spoke with a trucker from Besko Logistics and informed him to tell the employees not to park on Meadowbrook Drive anymore.

Unreachable

  • A business on 83rd Street told police March 5 that it leased a semi-truck to a man who has since made no payments and has been unreachable for three months. An officer told the business it was a civil matter.

Congestion concern

  • A resident on Carriage Way Drive told police March 8 that the area of County Line Road, Carriage Way and North Frontage Road was always congested and that she was afraid she would get into an accident one day. The officer told the woman that police would patrol the area and informed her of an alternate way she could get to her house. She is a newer resident.

No valid driver's license

  • Auriel N. McIntyre, 21, was cited about 11:30 p.m. March 3 at 55th Street and County Line Road on charges of no valid driver's license and no insurance.
