Burr Ridge Police Chief Graduates From FBI Academy

Internationally known for its academic excellence, the FBI National Academy Program offers ten weeks of advanced training.

Burr Ridge Police Chief John Madden joined 229 other law enforcement executives in graduating earlier this month from the 265th Session of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) National Academy Program in Quantico, Virginia.

Included in the Sept. 16 graduating class were men and women from 47 states, the District of Columbia, 24 international countries, three military organizations, and four federal civilian organizations.

Internationally known for its academic excellence, the FBI National Academy Program, held at the FBI Academy, offers ten weeks of advanced communication, leadership, and fitness training for selected officers having proven records as professionals within their agencies.

Leaders and managers of state, local, county, tribal, military, federal, and international law enforcement agencies attend the FBI National Academy. Participation is by invitation only, through a nomination process. Less than one percent of the nation’s top law enforcement administrators are invited to attend on an annual basis. Participants are drawn from every U.S. state and territory and from international partner nations.

Training for the program is provided by the FBI Academy instructional staff, Special Agents, and other staff members holding advanced degrees, many of whom are recognized internationally in their field of expertise.

Chief Madden is very thankful to Mayor Mickey Straub, the Board of Trustees, and Village Administrator Steven Stricker for allowing him the opportunity to attend the FBI National Academy.
