Clarendon Hills Board steps up when state steps down
Village will fund remaining $13,200 of state grant to obtain federal funds for improvement of train station property.

The Clarendon Hills Village Board agreed to pay the remaining $13,200 of a $250,000 grant from the state of Illinois to complete engineering work to apply for a federal grant to improve the property around the Metra station, according to a story in the Chicago Tribune.
The village received a $250,000 grant from the state to do the engineering work to complete a grant application to obtain federal funds to pay for 80 percent of a $2 million capital improvement project around the station, according to the Tribune. The state recently suspended the final $13,200 of its obligation.
