Crash Closes Route 83 Near Burr Ridge

DOWNERS GROVE TOWNSHIP, IL — A portion of Route 83 in unincorporated Du Page County remains closed during the Friday evening rush hour as authorities continue to investigate a traffic crash. The road between Bluff Road and Archer Avenue near Willowbrook and Burr Ridge was closed around 3 p.m. and is not expected to re-open until 6 p.m. or later, Du Page County Sheriff's Office Sgt. Bob Harris said.

Sheriff's deputies have classified the crash as a "personal injury" incident, although details on the number of people injured and the severity of those injuries were not immediately available.

Authorities encourage motorists to avoid the area until the scene clears up.
