Burr Ridge police reports, March 30-31

SUNDAY, MARCH 31

In-State Warrant

Michael Salvato, 30, of the 6900 block of Crest, Darien, was taken in on an outstanding Will County warrant for driving under the influence. Salvato was stopped at 10:10 a.m. while driving his 1984 Chevy pickup on the 200 block of Bridewell Drive. A random check of his license plates revealed the warrant. He was processed & transported to Will County.

Whose Doggie Is This?

A small white dog with a purple collar was found at 8:31 a.m. walking around the 9000 block of Royal Drive. The dog was placed in a kennel with food and water.

Woodridge Wooded Area Search

A Felony Investigative Assistance Team of detectives was called out at 8:19 a.m. to assist Woodridge police with a grid search of a wooded area.

Custody Dispute

There was a civil custody dispute over visitation hours at 8:01 a.m. on 79th Street. The parents worked it out while speaking with officers.

No Surprises, Please

A resident at 7:32 a.m. wanted officers to check her home on 79th Street while she was away because she received a threatening message from her ex-husband, according to police. Officers checked the home and found no one.

SATURDAY MARCH 30

One-Car Crash, Then Citation

A driver was cited for improper lane usage after a one-car crash. The accident occurred at 1:54 p.m. at 62nd Street and Garfield when the driver's 2002 Nissan Maxima drifted off the road and into a culvert. The vehicle was towed but there were no injuries or other property damage.

DUI

Laura Hughes, 44, of the 11600 block of South Lavergne, Alsip, was charged with driving under the influence. Hughes was driving her 1996 Jeep Cherokee at 4:37 a.m. at Route 83 and Mockingbird Road when police initiated a traffic stop.

Assist State Police

Burr Ridge police assisted a state trooper at 3:42 a.m. with a traffic stop at North Frontage and Tower. The driver was subsequently charged with driving under the influence.

Just in Time

The driver of a 2000 Chrysler was stopped at 12:18 a.m. for having one headlamp out at Plainfield Road and Garfield. As an officer was issuing citations, the driver found his or her valid insurance card, so just one citation was issued.
