BURR RIDGE, IL — The Fourth of July and unofficial middle of summer is quickly approaching. Independence Day is a federal holiday, which means that government offices are closed, and many people are also off work for the day. This year, July 4th falls on Wednesday.
And don't forget, if you're looking for something to do for the holiday, Pleasant Dale Park District in Burr Ridge will hold their annual fireworks show on July 3 at Walker Park, starting at dusk.

- Indian Prairie Public Library - Closed
- Post offices - Closed
- Garbage services - Families with Wednesday collection will be delayed one day with collection on Thursday, July 5. Households with Thursday collection will be delayed one day with collection on Friday, July 6 and so forth.
Most grocery stores and retail stores will be open, although they could have limited hours, so make sure to call or check before you head out.
