Fraudulent Checks Made With Business Account: Police Blotter

Burr Ridge police reports, Aug. 5-8.

THURSDAY, AUG. 8

Obscene Windshield

Someone wrote obscenities on a man's car windshield. The incident was reported at 8:13 p.m. on Carriage Way Drive. No actual damage was found and there was no recoverable evidence or suspect information, police said.

Online Fraud

A business at 12:25 a.m. on the first block of Shore Drive reported that someone placed a fraudulent online purchase through its company. The incident is under investigation.

WEDNESDAY, AUG. 7

Fraudulent Checks Made With Business Account

A local business at 1:31 p.m. on the 15W first block of North Frontage Road reported that someone used its business routing number, checking account number and signature on fraudulent checks. There was no monetary loss reported as the business did not pay out those checks, police said. The incident is under investigation.

Credit Card Fraud

Someone at 1:41 p.m. on the 7400 block of Arbor Avenue reported that an unknown subject used his credit card to pay several cell phone accounts at a value of over $350, police said. The incident is under investigation.
