Gingerbread houses decorate King-Bruwaert House

Residents vote for favorite entries

‘Tis the season to be creative – and King-Bruwaert House (KBH) staff in Burr Ridge have been showcasing their artistic talents. The KBH Wellness Committee hosted a Gingerbread House contest, encouraging all employees and their families to submit their favorite entries. Residents had an opportunity to vote on the gingerbread designs that were displayed in the main lobby of the retirement community. First place honors went to Terry LeFevour whose design included Christmas trees, lights and an assortment of decorative candies and treats.

Second place recognition went to Andy Beltz and his daughter, Ava, who created a lighthouse surrounded by blue icing and an adjoining decorated house. Donna Granback took third place honors with dual gingerbread birdhouses featuring birds, trees and trails decorated with a variety of candies.

King-Bruwaert House has a long tradition of decorating the beautiful and historic home with many trees, floral arrangements, lights and ornaments for all to enjoy.
