Higher Per Capita Virus Rate In Burr Ridge

BURR RIDGE, IL — Since the beginning of the pandemic, Burr Ridge has had more coronavirus cases per capita than either DuPage County or suburban Cook County. But in the last week, it saw a relatively small increase in virus cases — 4 percent — lower than the statewide rate.
As of Sunday, Burr Ridge had 308 coronavirus cases, up by a dozen from a week before.
As of Sunday, Burr Ridge had 28.6 coronavirus cases per thousand people, worse than its neighbors surveyed by Patch. The figure compares to 17.7 in La Grange Park, 17.8 in Darien, 20.3 in Western Springs, 22.4 in DuPage County, 22.6 in Clarendon Hills, 23.5 in Elmhurst, 24.7 in Hinsdale, 27.4 in suburban Cook County and 27.5 in La Grange (including unincorporated La Grange Highlands).

As of Sunday, Illinois' coronavirus case count increased to 344,048, up 8 percent from a week earlier. The coronavirus has claimed the lives of 9,214 state residents.
