Lawn Dispute, Hanging Out Truck: Burr Ridge Cops
Resident repeatedly mows lawn and is believed to have dumped clippings on a neighbor's yard, police say.
BURR RIDGE, IL — In the last couple of weeks, Burr Ridge police have handled cases involving a lawn dispute, a man hanging out of a truck, a domestic disturbance, a harassing message, road rage, a dog at large, a sleeping doorman and a police escort. Here is the information from the latest Burr Ridge police reports:
Cutting the grass repeatedly
- A resident in the 15W300 block of 81st Street told police Wednesday that her neighbor had cut the lawn multiple times in a week and possibly dumped grass clippings in her yard. An officer did not find grass clippings in the yard.

- Police received a complaint about a man hanging out of a black pickup truck with beer cans falling out of the vehicle at 7:30 p.m May 4 in the 100 block of Burr Ridge Parkway. Officers found the beer cans, but the pickup had left.
Disturbance
- A domestic disturbance happened about 7 a.m. April 29 in the 7900 block of Garfield Avenue. A woman said she had an argument with an in-law who came to see her grandson.

- An employee in County Line Square on April 29 wanted to document that she received emails from someone asking her about her business credentials. The emails were not threatening or harassing in nature. An officer told the woman to also document the incident with her local police department.
Outside church
- The secretary for a church on Plainfield Road told police April 29 that a man was sleeping on the bench outside. The man said he was on his way to Chicago and did not need police assistance. He appeared to be in good health. An officer provided the man and his dog with a bottle of water, and the man continued on his way.
Harassing message
- A man told police April 29 that a suspect sent him a harassing message about a new business he intends to open in County Line Square.
Road rage
- An apparent road rage incident happened about 3 p.m. April 29 at Plainfield Road and Madison Street. A semi truck driver said he was cut off by the driver of a Honda, causing him to slam on the brakes, almost causing an accident. The Honda driver said she had an altercation with the semi truck driver, but she said there was no near miss. Both drivers went their separate ways.
Third offense
- A stray Australian shepherd mix whose tag read Lucky Lake was taken to a veterinarian about 7:30 p.m. April 29. The dog was placed on hold until the owner could pick it up. The owner was cited for having a dog at large. It was the owner's third offense.
Sleeping before work
- An officer found a man sleeping inside a Honda at 1:30 a.m. April 30 in the 1300 block of Burr Ridge Parkway. The man said he was a doorman at the building and was sleeping before his shift started at 7 a.m. He said he works multiple jobs and said it's easier for him to sleep there than go all the way home.
Police escort
- A person requested a police escort while dropping off legal documents about 1:30 p.m. April 30 at Coda Motors, 60 Shore Drive. An officer stood by off the property. The person dropped off the documents without any problems.
Personal items found
- A supervisor for the Illinois Department of Transportation brought in an Arizona driver's license, five bank cards and other miscellaneous cards to the police station about 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. The supervisor said he found the items on the Interstate 55 northbound ramp while doing work. An officer contacted the owner, who said he lost his wallet at the Shell gas station in Darien recently. He said he would send his wife to pick up the found property.
