Mystery Photographer, Alleged Racism: Burr Ridge Cops

A woman was seen taking pictures of houses in a local neighborhood, police say.

BURR RIDGE, IL – In recent days, Burr Ridge police handled cases involving a mystery photographer, an alleged racist remark, fishing in violation, equipment missing during a divorce, reversed cameras and a loud party. Here is information from Burr Ridge police reports:

Mystery photographer

  • A woman was seen taking pictures of homes about 9 a.m. June 14 in the 6800 block of Fieldstone Drive. People walking in the area said this was a common issue with the same woman. They were asked to call police the next time. A little later, the woman was taking photos of another house and walked into the back yard. The residents were unable to access their security footage.

  • A customer at Crowne Plaza, 200 S. Frontage Road, told police June 11 that an employee there was rude to him and made a racist remark. An officer told the person that no crime had been committed and that he should contact the Crowne corporate office for more help. The man and his family had their room charges refunded and left without any problems.

Fishing in violation

  • A resident on Southgate Court complained about two people fishing near the east pond off 79th and Chasemoor about noon June 10. An officer pointed out the “No Fishing” signs. The two left without any problems. The resident said youths were constantly fishing at the pond.

  • Police received a complaint that a man at the Village Center, 775 Village Center Drive, was impersonating an officer at 10:30 p.m. June 10. The man was a security officer at the center.

Equipment missing during divorce

  • A man in the 8100 block of Kathryn Court told police June 11 that a red 2006 Honda scooter, a black and yellow 2007 Aprilia scooter, a leaf blower, an Impact driver and batteries were missing from his garage. He said he wasn’t sure what happened to his belongings because he and his wife were getting a divorce. He said he no longer lived on Kathryn Court. An officer tried to contact the man’s wife, but was unsuccessful.

Cameras reversed

  • A resident in the 1200 block of Laurie Lane told police that a person reversed her video cameras in her back yard June 11. She was concerned drug activity was taking place in the park where the cameras were turned away from. Hinsdale police found the person in the park. The person said it was a childish thing to do. Burr Ridge officers warned him against such activity.

Loud party

  • Police responded to a loud noise complaint at 10:30 p.m. June 12 in the 600 block of Grant Street. A person said he was hosting his aunt’s birthday and that a band was playing in the back yard. He said he would turn down the music. The band was set to be leaving soon.

Deer shot

  • An officer shot an injured deer that had run into a car about 9 p.m. June 13 near 91st Street and Enclave Drive.
