Some Burr Ridge Restaurants Still Offer Indoor Dining: Mayor

In an interview, Mayor Gary Grasso said the village is reinforcing the rules to restaurants. He said the village is not in a position to close restaurants offering indoor dining.

"We're having officers going to restaurants to make sure tables are separated and make sure all employees are wearing masks. We're making sure they are keeping windows open and air circulating," the mayor said.

Grasso said it's important for villages that restaurants stay open in the long-term.

"We want to make sure businesses survive too. If they close, that has ramifications for health and welfare," he said. "Mayors are trying to balance the objectives."

Grasso said there is an element of choice on such issues. Someone, he said, had just invited him for lunch at a restaurant. But he said he declined, proposing the two meet over soup at his office.
