Warranties For Closed Burr Ridge Car Dealer In Question: Report

Business shut its doors earlier this year after the village declined to renew its permit.

BURR RIDGE, IL — A woman who bought her Mercedes-Benz from a Burr Ridge car dealership two years ago told police she received a notice that she no longer had a warranty, police said.

The dealership, Apex Motorworks, closed earlier this year, which the woman discovered Sept. 5 when she went by its old building at 16W260 83rd St., according to a police report. An officer told her it was a civil matter, not one for the police.

The luxury car dealership was forced to close after Burr Ridge decided against renewing its special-use permit earlier this year. The village alleged the dealership had violated the conditions of its existing permit. The owner acknowledged doing so, but promised to follow the rules the next time around.
