Woman In Bushes, Mulch Mess: Burr Ridge Police

An intoxicated woman is taken to the hospital after she is found laying in bushes, police say.

BURR RIDGE, IL — In the last few weeks, Burr Ridge police handed cases involving a drunk woman laying in bushes, a mulch mess, a strange noise and an abandoned four-wheeler, among others. Here is information from Burr Ridge police reports:

Laying in bushes

  • Pleasantview Fire District took an intoxicated woman to the La Grange hospital at 5 p.m. March 9 after she was found laying in bushes on McClintock Drive. She appeared to be drunk. She provided her name and date of birth, but was not carrying any identification.

Mulch mess

  • A resident on 89th Street waved down an officer about 7 a.m. March 14 and reported a large pile of mulch on the street, which was making it difficult for cars to pass. The officer found the pile in the eastbound lane in front of 15W627 89th St. No cones or warning devices were near the pile. The officer took photos and forwarded the information to the village's code enforcement department.

Strange noise

  • Residents reported a strange pounding noise coming from near the back of their house about 5:30 a.m. March 16 in the 8700 block of Johnston Road. Two officers checked outside the house, but could not find the source of the noise, which was gone.

Handicapped spaces

  • Police were called about 8 p.m. March 12 about two cars with no visible handicapped placards that were parked in handicapped spaces at Capri Ristorante, 324 Burr Ridge Parkway. An officer found a 2015 Mercedes-Benz parked in such a space, but no other cars. A citation was issued.

Suspicious pedestrians

  • A person called police about 4 p.m. March 9 about a woman wearing a black puffy jacket and blue jeans carrying a bottle of wine and stumbling. Two officers checked the area, but could not find the woman.
  • Police were called about a man in the 7600 block of County Line Road who seemed confused shortly before midnight March 15. He said he was fine, but had nowhere to go. He was unable to contact anyone who could pick him up and did not have any money for transportation. He asked to be dropped off at the Denny's restaurant in Willowbrook.

Abandoned four-wheeler

  • A children's Power Wheels four-wheeler was found abandoned about 8:30 a.m. March 15 in the parking lot at 999 McClintock Drive.

Fraudulent call

  • A resident on Laurie Lane told police March 9 that he received a voicemail recording about a warrant for his arrest. After listening to the recording, an officer assured the resident that it was fraudulent.

Drunk cameraman

  • A guest at Extended Stay America, 15W122 S. Frontage Road, said another guest was filming him shortly before midnight March 10. The other guest also told the victim that he had his personal information. The offending guest was intoxicated and making nonsensical statements. He declined assistance.
