175 Arrests Made, Citations Issued in McHenry Co. Mobilization
The traffic mobilization occurred over the Memorial Day holiday in McHenry County.
MCHENRY COUNTY, IL -- The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office stepped up its traffic enforcement efforts over the Memorial Day holiday as part of a statewide crackdown on drunken and unbuckled drivers, according to a news release from the sheriff's office. As part of that mobilization, the sheriff's office issued the following citations and made the following arrests:
- 7 DUI arrests
- 4 drug arrests
- 65 seat belt and child restraint violation citations
- 6 driving while license suspended/revoked arrests
- 4 no valid driver’s license arrests
- 47 speeding citations
- 22 electronic communication device citations
- 20 operating a vehicle without insurance citations
This law enforcement mobilization was funded by federal traffic safety funds through the Illinois
Department of Transportation and is part of the nationwide “Click It or Ticket” and “Drive Sober
or Get Pulled Over” campaigns.
