2 Injured In 2 Separate Motorcycle Crashes In Bull Valley

BULL VALLEY, IL — A motorcyclist was seriously injured after being thrown from his bike Sunday evening in Bull Valley, according to authorities.

The male driver was in the 8200 block of Mason Hill Road when he apparently drove off the roadway. Authorities found the driver and his motorcycle in the ditch just before 6 p.m. Sunday, according to a news release from the Woodstock Fire Rescue District.

A helicopter was called to the scene, and the driver was taken to Advocate Medical Center in Libertyville with life-threatening injuries.

No other vehicles were involved, and no other injuries have been reported, according to the press release.

The roadway was closed in both directions for three hours following the collision, according to the news release.

Second Motorcycle Crash On Mason Hill Road Sunday

Authorities say another crash happened on Mason Road earlier in the day Sunday—only a 1/4-mile east from the evening crash.

In that collision, a male rider was injured and was taken to Northwestern Medicine McHenry Hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening, according to a news release.

Following the crashes, authorities are urging drivers to slow down, limit distractions while driving and never drink and drive to avoid putting yourself and others in danger in the roadway.

The McHenry County Sheriff's Office is investigating both collisions.
