4th Of July Fireworks 2021 Canceled In Cary
Cary's traditional Fourth of July events have been canceled.
CARY, IL — Although coronavirus cases continue to drop across the country while the number of those who are fully vaccinated continues to rise, many Independence Day celebrations have once again been canceled, modified or will be held virtually due to the pandemic.
This year's Cary Summer Celebration and fireworks show will not be happening this year. In a statement posted on the Cary Park District's Facebook page, officials explained why:
Although large events and festivals are allowed in Phase 5, the Park District planned for summer events several months ago and during that planning had to use the best information available at that time. Ultimately it was decided during the planning stage that Summer Celebration and the fireworks display associated with that event will not be held this year. However, we will be offering our Summer Concert Series, Movie in the Park, and hundreds of recreation programs throughout the summer.
Due to the pandemic, counties or cities may adjust or cancel events at the last minute. Check your event before you go. Know of other events in the area? Post them on the Patch calendar or share details on our free Neighbor Post feature.
