MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — McHenry County Animal Control and Adoption Center will participate in the 5th annual Clear the Shelters Day on Saturday, August 17. Adoption fees for all adoptable cats and dogs over 6 months of age will be waived during the event, and the adoption fee for available puppies and kittens will also be reduced, according to a news release.

The event is scheduled for 10 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. on Aug. 17 at 100 N. Virginia Street in Crystal Lake.

“Finding good homes for all of our animals is always our mission, but this special day gives us the opportunity to highlight our pets, who are so deserving of love. Not only is the adoption fee waived, but adopted pets go to their new home already spayed orneutered, micro chipped, treated for parasites, fleas and ticks and vaccinated with age appropriate vaccines, including the rabies shot.” said Maryellen Howell, anager of McHenry County Animal Control & Adoption Center.
