CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — It's time to pull those holiday lights out of storage and start brainstorming. The Crystal Lake Park District is hosting a Light Up! Crystal Lake contest.

The registration deadline is Dec. 11 at 12 p.m. Participants can upload a photo or video and uploads must be received by Dec. 17.

Public voting, which is new this year, will take place online between Dec. 18 to 21. The winner of the contest will receive a $50 Crystal Lake Park District gift card.

There will be a maximum of 20 homes in Crystal Lake or Lakewood included this year.
