Blaze Leaves Crystal Lake Resident Without Home

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — The cause of a fire that has displaced one resident in Crystal Lake is under investigation.

The blaze broke out at about 8 p.m. Monday in the 100 block of Eastview Avenue, according to a news release from the Crystal Lake Fire Rescue Department. Fire crews first at the scene found smoke coming from the unoccupied home and extinguished a smoldering fire in the kitchen.

The blaze caused $50,000 in damage and is uninhabitable.
