Coroner IDs Woman, 36, Found Dead On Beach: UPDATE
The woman has been identified as Megan Chamberlain. Her body was found on a beach in the Burtons Bridge area.

MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — The body of a 36-year-old woman was found on a beach in the Burtons Bridge area of McHenry County on Thursday morning, authorities said Friday.
Officials identified the woman as Megan Chamberlain, of Crystal Lake, and preliminary findings from an autopsy indicate that she died from a gunshot wound to the chest, McHenry County Coroner Michael Rein said.
No one is currently in custody in connection with the shooting, and authorities are not releasing any details on what lead to the shooting or who may have fired the gun.

Officials with the McHenry County Sheriff's Office told Patch that deputies were dispatched to the area at about 5:15 a.m. after receiving reports of shots fired. The beach is located at Riverside Drive and Lily Court. Chamberlain was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:37 a.m., Rein said.
A heavy police presence was reported in the area early Thursday morning.

Authorities are not releasing much more at this point but did say the shooting was an "isolated incident."
"At this time, it's an active death investigation and the sheriff's office is working with the coroner's office," said Emily Matusek, a communications specialist with the sheriff's office. "At this time, there is no threat to the public and no one is in custody."
