Rosati's Owner Pushed Employee Up Against Window: Authorities
Asif S. Damani, 35, of Lake in the Hills, faces charges in connection with the 2020 attack.

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — The owner of Rosati's Pizza is accused of physically assaulting an employee last summer, pushing her up against the glass window at the Crystal Lake pizzeria and kissing her, according to a criminal complaint filed this past week in McHenry County Circuit Court.
Asif S. Damani, 35, of Lake in the Hills is free after he made an initial court appearance Wednesday and posted his $100 bail. He is charged with four counts of battery.
Police say they initially launched an investigation into the sexual assault, which reportedly happened last June, in recent weeks.

The female employee told police Damani gave her a beverage, which she drank and then reported feeling semi-incoherent, and was then physically assaulted by Damani while trying to leave Rosati's Pizza, 40 West Terra Cotta Avenue, according to police.

Damani is accused of pushing the employee up against the glass window outside of Rosati's and kissing her on her face against her wishes. He also pushed her up against her car and kissed her on her cheek after being told not to touch her, according to the criminal complaint.
Authorities said Thursday they were not releasing any additional information.
