Crystal Lake Blotter: Reckless Driving, Battery, DUI

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — The Crystal Lake Police Department made the following arrests in recent weeks:

• Diane Nada Gal, 38, of the 100 block of Kenilworth Drive in Wheeling, was arrested on April 22 and charged with possession of a controlled substance and manufacturing/delivery of 1<15 grams of heroin. Gal was turned over to the McHenry County Jail.
• Robert Paul Mullen, 56, of the 100 block of North Main Street in Crystal Lake, was arrested on April 29 and charged with DUI/Alcohol and DUI/BAC Over Legal Limit. Mullen was released after posting a $300 bail. He is next expected in court on June 8.
• Bruce Eric Lewis, 46, of the 100 block of South McHenry Avenue in Crystal Lake, was arrested on May 4 and charged with criminal damage to government supported property. He was turned over to the McHenry County Jail.
• Joe Louis Garrett, 34, of Crystal Lake, was arrested on May 4 and charged with domestic battery/bodily harm and domestic battery/physical contact. Garrett was turned over to the McHenry County Jail.
• Jacquelyn A. Friel, 27, of Crystal Lake, was arrested on May 34 and charged with domestic battery/physical contact. Friel was wanted on a warrant on a domestic battery charge. She is next expected in court on June 8.
• Benjamin James Swift, 24, of Crystal Lake, was arrested on May 8 and charged with domestic battery/bodily harm and domestic battery/physical contact. Swift was turned over to the McHenry County Jail.
• Abraham Peter Akong, 37, of the 1700 block of Warrington Lane in Crystal Lake, was arrested on May 9 and charged with reckless driving. Akong was later released and is next expected in court on June 15.
• Richard R. Salata, 25, of the 2000 block of Willow Brooke Drive in Woodstock, was arrested on May 12 and charged with driving under influence - alcohol. Salata's bail was set at $3,000 and he was later released from jail. He is next expected in court on July 1.
• Peter Johannes Steirer, 64, of the 2000 block of Willow Brooke Drive in Woodstock, was arrested on May 13 and charged with driving under the influence/alcohol, driving under the influence/BAC over the legal limit and on a warrant for failure to report on accident. Steirer was released after posting $100. He is next expected in court on June 22.
• Adam William Pittner, 28, of the 700 block of White Pine Cricle in Lake in the Hills, was arrested on May 18 and charged with criminal trespassing to a vehicle. He was relased from the jail. next expected in court on June 8.
