Crystal Lake, Cary MLK Day Weekend Weather: Cold Is Back
This weekend, our break from the cold is over with temperatures topping out at 22 degrees.

CRYSTAL LAKE-CARY, IL — We all knew it wouldn't last forever. After a week of mostly warm temperatures, winter has come back, dropping high temperatures to a maximum of 21 over the weekend.
Friday's morning flurries will give way to a mostly sunny, but chilly and windy day, with a high of 21 degrees and gusts as high as 30 mph. Wind chill values will drop to -10 Friday night.
Saturday and Sunday will be sunny for the most part, but don't let that fool you. The wind will be a factor, dropping Saturday's high of 14 to a wind chill value of -9. Sunday will be chilly, and potentially drop some snow on us with an 80 percent chance of precipitation.

Martin Luther King, Jr. Day we can expect snow in the morning and a high temperature near 20.
The National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather outlook Friday, warning of an elevated excessive cold risk from Friday through Sunday, and a limited snow risk on Saturday and Sunday.
