If you want a warm weekend, what are you doing in Illinois? Temps are bitterly cold this weekend, but Sunday should provide a little relief.

CRYSTAL LAKE-CARY, IL — What did we expect but more bitterly cold days ahead? That's exactly what we'll see this weekend in the northwest suburbs.

The National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather outlook and a wind chill advisory. Brutal cold, wind, snow and ice build up will basically define the weather for the much of the weekend.

Friday, a high temperature of 8 degrees will be brought down to a wind chill value of -16. The winds will die down a bit at night, but the temperature is expected to drop to -9, meaning the wind chill value will be -22. Friday there is a "significant excessive cold risk," the National Weather Service said, alongside a limited snow risk.
