Crystal Lake Man, 23, Critically Injured In I-80 Crash
The collision happened on Friday in Bureau County.
BUREAU COUNTY, ILLINOIS — A 23-year-old Crystal Lake man was critically injured in a crash on Interstate 80 in Bureau County on Friday, authorities said.
Rami N. Halabi was a passenger in a 2009 Nissan Xterra when it collided with another vehicle. Another passenger and a driver in the car also sustained serious injuries.

The collision happened when the Nissan, while pulling a trailer and heading east on I-80, veered to the left to avoid hitting a different vehicle that had drifted into its lane, according to a news release from the Illinois State Police. The Nissan lost control and flipped over the center median, landing in the westbound lanes.
A passenger in the car, Moira R. Dunn, 24, of Riverside, was taken by a helicopter with life-threatening injuries. Halabi and the driver of the car, Austin M. Albert, 24, of Morris, was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
