Crystal Lake Man Dies In McHenry County Jail: Sheriff
The Crystal Lake man had been held in the McHenry County Adult Correctional Facility since Feb. 22, authorities said.
MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — The McHenry County Sheriff's Office on Wednesday announced it is investigating the death of a county jail inmate.
Andrew S. Ladd, a 42-year-old Crystal Lake man, was found dead in his cell at the McHenry County Adult Correctional Facility around 9:05 p.m. Monday, the sheriff's office said in a news release.
Although correctional officers and Woodstock Fire-Rescue workers tried to save his life, Ladd was pronounced dead at the jail, according to the release.

It was not clear as of this writing what caused Ladd's death.
The sheriff said the man was arrested Feb. 22 on charges of possession of child pornography and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

The McHenry County Major Investigation Assistance Team and coroner's office are investigating the death.
