LAKE BARRINGTON, IL — A 50-year-old Mount Prospect woman was not injured after she made a right turn onto the Metra tracks in Lake Barrington and her car was hit by a train Thursday night. She told police her GPS told her to make the right turn while she was heading southwest on Kelsey to Plum Tree Road at about 6:40 p.m., and instead of turning onto the roadway, she turned right onto the tracks, according to the Daily Herald.

She made it about 50 feet before a Metra train headed for the Fox River Grove station hit her car, Lake County Sheriff's Office Lt. Christopher Covelli told the newspaper. She was not hurt and was cited for improperly driving on the railroad tracks.
