Food Pantry Seeks Thanksgiving Feast Food Donations

Do you have a couple cans of canned goods you don't plan to use? Bring it to the Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Food Pantry.

ALGONQUIN AND LAKE IN THE HILLS, IL — It's a good time to clean out your cupboards and help bring a little Thanksgiving to a local family who is in need this holiday season. The Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Food Pantry is asking for food donations to help make its tradition of providing Thanksgiving feasts to area residents who are food insecure.

Items needed to complete one feast for a family include:

  • Corn - 2 cans
  • Yams - 2 cans
  • Green Beans - 2 cans
  • Vegetable Soup - 2 cans
  • Instant Mashed Potatoes - 1 large box
  • Egg Noodle - 1 bag
  • Cake mix - 1 box
  • Frosting - 1 can
  • Stuffing - 1 large box
  • Macaroni & Cheese - 2 boxes
  • Turkey Gravy - 2 cans
  • Cranberry Sauce - 2 cans
  • Applesauce - 2 jars
  • Fruit Cocktail - 2 cans
  • Instant Jell-o - 1 large box
  • Marshmallows - 1 large bag
  • Flour - 5-pound bag
  • Sugar - 5-pound bag

The food pantry is welcoming those who donate an entire feast or a single item donation.
