CARY, IL — A former Metra train station in Cary will be demolished later this summer. The train station was replaced in 2019 with a new 1,400-square-foot station building and a 300-square-foot warming shelter.

The Cary Village Board approved a demolition contract with Bellwood-base Milburn LLC during a recent meeting. Village manager Jacob Rife said the demolition fits in with Cary's plan for its downtown, which will include adding more plaza space in the area, according to the Northwest Herald.
