CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — Williams Street Repertory is prepping its newest musical, which is set to hit the stage at the Raue Center for the Arts the first weekend in August. The new musical adaptation of Disney's Freaky Friday will make its Chicagoland premiere just as area kids are getting ready to go back to school. Based on the classic novel by Mary Rodgers, which later became a hit Disney film, the musical will open on August 2 and will run through September 1.

“I’m thrilled to be directing the Chicagoland premiere of Disney’s Freaky Friday at Raue Center,” says Director Kent M. Lewis. “We’re opening the first weekend in August, and the perfectly cast troupe of actors are already having way too much fun laughing their way through the hilarious script and singing the amazing songs by Kitt and Yorkey."

Lewis worked alongside his daughter, CC Lewis, who is the associate director for the musical. The dances were created by Broadway’s Natalie Wisdom.
