CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — A group of Lundahl Middle School students collected 1,643 pounds of food last month for the Crystal Lake Food Pantry. The National Junior Honor Society spearheaded the food drive and met virtually over Zoom for planning purposes, according to a news release from District 47.

They printed and distributed flyers in their neighborhoods and also shared the information with families of Lundahl students, according to the news release. They had a goal of bringing in 1,000 pounds of food and surpassed that by collecting 1,643 pounds.

Kim Chudik, a Lundahl teacher who is also the co-leader of the school’s student council and National Junior Honor Society, expressed her appreciation to those who donated and to the students who collected the donations.
