Man Burglarizes Church Hours After Posting Bond: McHenry Deputies
Following his release from jail on burglary charges, McHenry deputies said Christopher A. Kalisz's burglarized a church a few hours later.
MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — Approximately six hours after posting bond, a McHenry County man is back in jail for the same charge that put him there to begin with, according to sheriff's deputies.
Christopher A. Kalisz, 39, of Wonder Lake was arrested Tuesday, June 8 for several burglaries that had occurred recently in the county, according to the McHenry County Sheriff's Office. Following a bond hearing, he was released from the McHenry County Adult Correctional Facility on Sunday, June 13 around 8 p.m.
Shortly after 2 a.m. on Monday, June 14, deputies said they responded to Wonder Lake Bible Church on Howe Road for a trespass complaint captured on a Ring doorbell.

After arriving on scene, deputies along with officers from the Wonder Lake Police Department went inside the church where they said Kalisz ran out of the building. However, he didn't get far.
Deputies said Kalisz, who had several burglary tools on him and money from a church fundraiser, was immediately taken into custody. He's been charged with burglary, criminal damage to property, violation of bail bond, possession of burglary tools and theft less than $500.

After the arrest, deputies said they checked other businesses in the area but did not locate any other break-ins.
