McHenry Area Chamber Calls For Frank E. Low Award Nominations

MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — The McHenry Area Chamber of Commerce plans to once again give its Frank E. Low Award to an area resident who deserves recognition for his or her service to the community.

The chamber, in a recent public notice, issued a call for the community to submit nominations for the award.

According to the nomination criteria, nominees should be known to many in the community and should have made a "verifiable contribution" to the quality of life in the greater McHenry area. Ideally, the chamber said, the nominee will have also inspired other people to become involved in helping their community.

Recipients of the award should also have shown a pattern of generosity that goes beyond providing funds for programs. According to the nomination criteria, Frank E. Low recipients will have been responsible for developing or supporting programs that impact lives.

The service-minded individual who goes on to win the award will also need to show a pattern of setting and achieving goals for service and community development, improving lives, and maintaining high status and respect, the chamber said.

Nominations, which are kept confidential, can be made by family members, coworkers, friends, acquaintances and fellow organization members, the chamber said.

Nomination forms must be completed in full and sent to the chamber by Jan. 31. Nomination forms can be delivered to 1257 N. Green Street in McHenry, emailed to molly@mchenrychamber.com or sent by fax to 815-385-9142.
