McHenry Co. Deputy, K9 Partner Not Injured In Crash
The driver of a vehicle that collided with the squad car has been cited for failure to yield at an intersection.

No injuries were reported after a McHenry County Sheriff’s Office squad car carrying a police canine was struck by another vehicle in Woodstock.
The Woodstock Fire Rescue District and Woodstock Police Department responded around 8:55 p.m. Sunday to Country Club Road and Zimmerman Road in Woodstock for a vehicle crash.

McHenry County Sheriff’s Deputy Kevin Byrnes told Lake and McHenry County Scanner that the crash involved a department squad car carrying a canine.
Byrnes said that the on-duty sheriff’s deputy and his canine partner were not injured. The crash investigation was turned over to the Woodstock Police Department.

Woodstock Deputy Police Chief Ray Lanz said the squad car, a 2008 Dodge Durango, was struck by a 2012 Buick Enclave.
The Buick, driven by Mildre Morales-Belmonte, 35, of Crestwood, was southbound exiting the McHenry County Fairgrounds at Country Club Road and Zimmerman Road.
Morales-Belmonte intended to cross Country Club Road and continue southbound on Zimmerman Road.
The woman pulled into the intersection and struck the Dodge, which was traveling eastbound on Country Club Road.
Morales-Belmonte, along with a 34-year-old male passenger and two minor children in the Buick, all declined medical attention.
Lanz said that Morales-Belmonte was cited for failure to yield at an intersection.
