Check me out, I'm PRECIOUS!
Hey Everyone! My name is Diamond and let me tell you, my name suits me just fine! I'm about 6 years old and 50 or so pounds, at least that's what my driver's license says! When you look at my face you probably see a dog that has had a "ruff" life, and that's true. I came from a county in Tennessee where they have Breed Specific Legislation (BSL). What is that you ask? Well it means that they don't allow ANY "bully" breeds in the county. No Pitbulls, no American Bulldogs, no Bull Terriers, and no ME! I had a slim chance to get out of there. I either had to be adopted by someone in another county, be selected by a rescue, or…well let's not talk about that "or".
I was very lucky to be brought to a shelter where they recognized what a wonderful dog I am. They kept me for OVER 700 DAYS waiting for rescue! Then one day I got the call…I was going to Illinois!

Let me tell you a little more about myself:
Just like the gemstone, under my rough looking exterior is a polished, sparkling soul. I am housebroken and crate trained. Sometimes when I go in my crate, I let out a little "chirp" just to let you know I would rather be with you, but other than that, I don't bark much at all. No need to call attention to this beauty!

I love all humans! Adults, kids, men, women…EVERYONE! Want to snuggle on the couch? I'm in! When it gets warmer, want to hang out in the sun? I'd love it! Need to get some exercise? Take me on a walk! I am just that precious!
I have been living in a shelter or looking for a family for too long! Once I find the perfect people, I would prefer not to share them with another dog. I mean, I have watched so many other dogs and puppies go off with their new families and for once, I would like to be the center of attention.
