No Arrests, Few Details Released In Fatal Shooting: Police

The body of Megan Chamberlain, 36, of Crystal Lake, was found on the beach in the Burtons Bridge area of McHenry County Thursday morning.

MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — No arrests have been made in connection with the death of a 36-year-old woman, whose body was found on a beach near Burtons Bridge last week, and authorities are not sharing many details regarding the ongoing investigation.

Preliminary findings from an autopsy reveal Megan Chamberlain died from a gunshot wound to the chest, McHenry County Coroner Michael Rein said. No details have been released into the shooting or who may have fired the gun.

Police also would not comment Monday on whether they had a suspect or were pursuing any specific leads.
