A longtime Shorewood resident passes away at 73.

Michael L. Bolos Jr.

Age 73 of Shorewood passed away peacefully Tuesday, April 20, 2021, at his late residence. He was born in Chicago, the son of the late Michael Sr., and Connie (Smigielski) Bolos. He was raised in Joliet, residing in Shorewood for the past 41 years. He was a graduate of Joliet West High School and Indiana University, receiving his Law Degree from John Marshall Law School in Chicago.

Mike was the proprietor of Michael L. Bolos LTD. He was a former ARDC Hearing Board Chair, a former Scoutmaster with Troop #256 in Joliet. He was a member of the Joliet Elks Club #296, Will County Bar Association and Illinois State Bar Association. Mike was a loving family man, an avid fisherman, loved the outdoors, grilling, woodworking, reading, classical music and the Chicago Bears.

He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Patricia (Catalano) Bolos of Shorewood; two sons, Michael (Amanda) Bolos III of Shorewood and Phillip (Nicole) Bolos of Crystal Lake, Illinois; four beautiful grandchildren, Ava, Addison, Ashlynn and Jackson Bolos; his sister, Jules Algood of Florida; and numerous nephews also survive.

Visitation for Michael L. Bolos Jr. will be Saturday, April 24, 2021 at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd., Joliet from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. As it was Mike’s request, cremation rites will be accorded following visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to Sunrise North Therapeutic Riding Center of Minooka, Illinois would be appreciated.
