Pedestrian Hit by Metra Train Near Cary

Long delays expected on Metra's Union Pacific-Northwest line Tuesday night.

CARY, IL — Metra reports that inbound and outbound trains on the Union Pacific-Northwest line are halted and long delays expected after a pedestrian was hit by a train Tuesday night. Train No. 654 struck a person near Cary. "Extensive delays are expected," Metra said in an alert.

The inbound train was scheduled to arrive at Ogilvie Transportation Center at 6:23 p.m., according to Metra. The line already was experiencing delays. This post will be updated as new information is learned.
