Pedestrian Killed in Motorcycle Crash May 7 Identified

The driver and passenger of the motorcycle were also injured.

Thomas R. King, 66, of McHenry was pronounced dead April 7, in the 3900 block of Ringwood Road, after a motorcycle struck him in the roadway, McHenry County Sheriff’s Police reported.

“Preliminary investigation indicates that a 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling westbound on Ringwood Road when it struck King,” McHenry County Sheriff’s Police said in a written release. “The driver of the Harley Davidson, Michael Polanzi, 62, and passenger, Krystal L Hyde, 28, were transported by ambulance to Centegra Hospital McHenry.”

Patch had earlier reported that it was believed that King had gone out to check his mail when he was struck outside his home.

No citations have been issued in the case.

The investigation in ongoing by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Traffic Crash Investigations Unit and the McHenry County Coroner’s Office. Members of the McHenry Fire Protection District also assisted at the scene.
