Potbellied Pig Found Wandering Crystal Lake
The Crystal Lake Police Department was called to the scene where they found the missing pig. The pig was later returned to its owner.

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — A potbellied pig spotted wandering Crystal Lake has been returned to its owner. The Crystal Lake Police Department received a call at about 3:26 p.m. on Monday regarding the pig, which was first spotted in a front yard in the 700 block of Dartmoor Drive, said Thomas Kotlowski, deputy chief with the Crystal Lake Police Department.
Officers responded to the odd call and found the pig, whose name is Rudy, a couple houses away, authorities said. With the help from a resident, officers fitted the pig with a leash and guided Ruby to a nearby, fenced-in backyard, Kotlowski said.
McHenry County Animal Control responded to the scene and transported Ruby to Hooved Animal Society in Barrington. Ruby was housed in her own stable and given water, fruits, veggies and other special pig food, Kotlowski said.
