Reorganization Approved in McHenry County Sheriff's Office
The reorganization was approved with a 22-0 vote.

The McHenry County Board reorganized some positions in the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office on March 17. The 22-0 vote approved the reclassification of five positions. They are as follows.
- Undersheriff to Chief of Administration
- Chief of Corrections to Chief of Operations
- Deputy Chief of Corrections to Lieutenant
- Deputy Sheriff Commander to Deputy Chief of Patrol
- Deputy Sheriff Commander to Deputy Chief of Administration
An analysis by Prim and his staff determined that reclassifying certain management positions and redistributing certain responsibilities could save money and improve efficiency, according to the office’s request, the Northwest Herald is reporting.
The reclassifications come with salary reductions that save $37,821 in the sheriff’s office personnel budget for the current fiscal year, not counting additional Social Security and pension savings with the reduced wages.
