'Significant' Snow Storm Possible Monday, Tuesday In Crystal Lake
Some icing is possible, according to the National Weather Service
CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — The Crystal Lake area on Monday and Tuesday could see a snow storm resulting in “significant accumulations,” according to the National Weather Service.
The storm could produce six or more inches of snow and will mostly impact the area between Chicago and Waukegan, going as far west as Elgin.
The National Weather Service said gusty northeast winds should be expected, as well as icing to the south and near I-80.

The snow could impact travel into the Tuesday morning commute and could lead to power outages, the NWS warns. Residents are reminded to travel with an extra flashlight, food and water in case of an emergency.
The snow is expected to give way to snow showers around 7 p.m. on Tuesday. By Wednesday, the chance of snow showers drops to 30 percent.

Thursday brings with it partly cloudy skies and a high near 25 degrees, followed on Friday by mostly sunny skies with a high near 30.
