Suspect Arrested in Crystal Lake Armed Robbery
The 21-year-old remains in the McHenry County Jail.

Trent James Keegan, 21, of the 1400 block of Skyridge Drive in Crystal Lake was arrested Sunday in conjuntion with an armed robbery that happened on Saturday afternoon, Crystal Lake Police reported. Keegan was arrested on a charge of armed robbery, which is a class X felony.
Crystal Lake police were called to the Super 8 Motel, 577 Crystal Point Drive at 4:50 p.m. April 11 for a report of an armed robbery.
“As officers arrived, they learned the offender, while armed with a knife, had jumped over the front counter and demanded money from the clerk,” Crystal Lake Police said in a written release. “After taking approximately $1,200 in cash, the offender fled the area on foot.”

The clerk was not injured in this incident.
By 10 p.m., an arrest warrant was obtained and police located and apprehended the suspect at 12:55 a.m. April 12.

Keegan’s bond was set at $250,000. Because he is unable to post bond, he remains at the McHenry County Jail. His next court date is April 15.
Crystal Lake Police were assisted by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Department and the McHenry County Conservation District Police.
