Teen Hit By On-Duty Sheriff’s Office Vehicle
The collision happened Saturday along Route 176 in Crystal Lake.
CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — A 14-year-old bicyclist crossing Route 176 Saturday in an area that does not have a crosswalk was struck by a McHenry County Sheriff’s Office vehicle, Crystal Lake police told the Northwest Herald. The boy was taken to an area hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening. Police said no citations have been issued in the collision, which happened at about 3:40 p.m. at the intersection of Routes 176 and 31, according to the article.
