TLC Hosts Open House in Honor of 30th Anniversary May 22
The Land Conservancy of McHenry County (TLC) is hosting an Open House in honor of its 30th anniversary on Saturday, May 22 from 1-4:00 p.m.

The Land Conservancy of McHenry County (TLC) is hosting an Open House in honor of its 30th anniversary on Saturday, May 22 from 1-4:00 p.m. at Hennen Conservation Area, 4622 Dean St. in Woodstock. The event is free and open to the public. Participants can register to attend online at ConserveMC.org.
TLC will also have information on its programs such as preserving private land, farmland, Conservation@Home, 5000 Acres to preserve McHenry County’s oak woods, its Conservation Leader Internship Program, volunteer opportunities, land restoration, and events such as the Night Owl bike ride, Art of the Land art show and benefit and Dia de Los Muertos in the fall.
Hennen Conservation Area is a 25-acre City of Woodstock public park and home to TLC’s offices. At the Open House guests are invited to participate in a guided hike of the site with a TLC staff member to explore its trails, wetland, and wild, natural setting.

TLC was founded in 1991 to fill a need for a regional land trust that would work with private landowners to help them preserve their property. In 2021, TLC is celebrating its 30th anniversary and has preserved over 2,800 acres for life in McHenry County.
The Land Conservancy of McHenry County is a member-based private nonprofit dedicated to preserving natural, scenic and agricultural land.
